Robbed while we slept - unsafe- poor security

Homeless people allowed to roam the floors. We stayed at this hotel for a safe night sleep. Instead awoke to find our wallet & purse ramsacked - cash, credit cards, prescription drugs taken. Thief used credit card in gift shop where clerk did not check for ID. Security and the police admitted the thief was a homeless man that had been arrested at the Hyatt before. There are no survellance cameras on the floors or card pass to enter hotel or elevator. We will never stay at a Hyatt especially St. Louis again. The hotel and staff have offered no remorse. This room cost us well over $*. How creepy is having your room broke into while you sleep and your wallet & purse removed from the table by your head!! Do noy stay at this hotel!!!

This hotel was resonably priced for it's convenient downtown location within walking distance to the ballpark, the arch, casino, and nightlife. On property dining choices are very good. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the staff was very accommodating. We stayed in this same hotel again on a separate night during our trip. We would stay here again. On site parking is valet only and priced about as expected for a downtown hotel. Nearby self-park options that are much more affordable are available and easy to access.

This is my first trip to St. Louis and the first time in downtown St. Louis and I have to say the Hyatt didn't disappoint. Bottom line is that the 4 Star Rating certainly is absolutely true and didn't disappoint. Well appointed room, flat screen TV, comfortable beds, and the modern look and feel all winners in my book. Come to find out they just completed a multi-million dollar renovation the past year and with the amenities they are giving away, the room rates are so much worth the price for what you get. The restaurant Red for lunch was phenomenal. The local historic bar called the Brewhouse was a great place for me to grab a bear or two while watch the Cardinals game and in the morning, the attached Starbucks was so convenient. The hotel is walking distance from all the major venues for the Rams games, the Blues games and of course, the Cardinals games at the ballpark. Great location, great service, great amenities and conveniences not easy to find, the Hyatt Regency at St. Louis didn’t disappoint.
